Scrapbooking Tools Go High-Tech!

The last stop of the day was the Xyron booth to see a demo of two of their newest high-tech Scrapbooking tools-- the Personal Cutting System and the Design Runner.

Xyron’s Personal Cutting System is a portable electronic die-cutting tool that cleanly cuts a variety of fonts and decorative shapes from paper as thin as tissue paper increasing in thickness up to Bazzill cardstock. The die-cut shapes will add a three-dimensional element to your scrapbooking, handmade card, gift bag and home décor projects. Visit their website at http://www.xyron.com/enUS/Home/default.html to purchase products, locate retailers in your area or browse for project ideas and inspiration.

Xyron’s Design Runner is a handheld inkjet printer which uses interchangeable pre-programmed Design Discs to print borders, images, phrases and word art. Thanks to its lightweight handheld design, the Design Runner can be used to add a creative touch to a variety of gradually curved or flat surfaces; such as terra cotta pots, fabric napkins, lampshades or ribbons. Each Disc contains 40 unique designs, which are the equivalent of more than 70 rubber stamps because each design can be printed either individually or continuously to create a roller stamp effect.

Never really done scrapbooking, just sewing, but the way you describe things it makes it sound like fun, and I am going to incorporate some sewing with scrappbooking.

Nice blog. Great photos and info. Here's a question for you. You started out about Xyron and their Personal Cutting System, but did you by any chance get to see if there was the other system by the same company that puts out the Wishblade...but theirs supposedly does it all from anything you can put on your computer? It's called the CraftRobo and I had my heart set on a Wishblade for Xmas, it seems that this CraftRobo is the same thing, BUT the big difference is their cutter has a program that will take whatever you can print from your computer and into their program and cut it out for you. You don't have to buy seperate disks for their system as you do for the Wishblade. Looks like I may have found the true cutter that I've been wishing for.
