Aloha Epsiode & The Simpsons Last Night
Did anyone catch the Simpsons last night? Marge busted some big DIY moves. She was the ultimate DIY gal when she opened her own carpentry business – and Lisa said she had some “paper to mache.” I was in heaven when my two favorite cartoon gals went crafty.
This Tues and Sat is the Aloha episode of Creative Juice and we are working with paper mache! – I hope you can tune in. This is one of my favorite episodes because we are making pineapple drinks and this really fun beaded bamboo curtain (perfect for kids to make) and we are also making a tiki mask (paper mache) and a stunning Hawaiian luminary.

We have got that aloha attitude! We put a modern spin on an ancient art by making tiki masks from paper mache; string together beaded bamboo curtains for that tropical bungalow atmosphere; make a delicious fresh pineapple Piña Colada; and create a Hawaiian floral print luminary that glows with island vibes.

It takes a crafter's eye to turn trash into treasure, and we are up to the challenge. We give an old chair some bright new accents; turn a worn out cookie sheet into a trendy serving tray; and transform a dingy old lampshade into something special for only a few cents.

No green thumb? No problem. We show you how to turn your barren patio or porch into a blooming oasis, even if you're on a budget. We'll reveal a simple secret for growing fresh herbs right outside your back door; turn a new clay pot into a rustic-looking antique; transform old records into conversation-piece planters; paint fun designs on bland flower pots; and a design a floral birthday cake that looks good enough to eat.

Speed Racer - October 5th & 8th
We're rolling out some fun, unique projects for those car-loving crafters! We turn old license plates into funky new scrapbooks, tire valve caps and boring keychains into works of art, and a greasy old hubcap into a folk-art chandelier that shines with automotive flair.

Decoupaged Vases
I have received tons of emails regarding the new DIY ad campaign featuring Steve, myself, and the decoupaged vase we made.
If you are not familiar with the ad you can click here to see a copy of it... or check out the October Family Circle - it should be on the news stands now.
The vase is super simple to make and can also be used with a candle as a luminary. The project is from our "Aloha" episode. In the ad we used scrapbook paper around the vase and in the show we colored copied fabric to create our own paper. You can catch the "Aloha" episode of Creative Juice beginning September 26th.
