Love that hat your'e wearing! My best friend would love to have that. She loves to wear anything with the skull and crossbones design. Vickie, I am interested in knitting some socks with the skull and crossbone design on them. Any suggestions on making a chart when it comes to incorporating intarsia when knitting in the round? I am a beginner when it comes to knitting. (A knitter because of hurricane katrina) thanks for the reply :)

I'm knitting with you from Shelbyville Illnois.
It is freezing here, so I'm very happy to be sitting here with my knitting, some hot tea, and your good company.
Thanks for teaching me to be a better kniter!

You guys ROCK! This is so much fun and it feels good to know that I am knitting for a cause. Vicki, I love, love your show and have done several of the projects. My latest is the rock star bag. It turned out very cool. I've gotten a ton of comments on it. Swiss darning is fabulous and I now look for ways to incorporate it into my projects. My 3-year-old daughter was watching me start to knit my square tonight and she wanted to help. I can't wait until she is old enough so I can teach her how to knit too. Thanks for inspiring me to use the right side of my brain!

I can't find your program in NH?

Posted by: Paris at February 4, 2007 8:07 PM

Dear Vickie,

I just wanted to say that I'm fairly new to the show but not new to knitting. However, the cool patterns and tips you give on the show really spice up my knitting life. In fact, I'm working on my first pair of socks now, (with self-striping yarn) and I use your socks episode as a resource.

I'll be 30 this month, and I'm happy to see that knitting is not just for grandmothers anymore! There are lots of hipster knitsters out there!

Thanks for keeping the show hip, fresh, and on the cutting edge!

I have been knitting for 2 years and was thrilled when I found your show on TV a few months ago!! I've tried many patterns and learned a lot from the new techniques. Love your sense of style!! and that Vickie flare you put into what you do!! Knit On!

This is so cool! Haven't knitted in over 30 years and am thrilled to be involved with this.

I've put a few other notes out on other blogs on this website, and don't want to repeat myself, but can we keep this going for a while?

What can all of us viewers do to assist you in making more and more shows?

Can we come sit on your couch and be Knitsters someday???

Your show is great because we can all tell you are really enjoying yourself. THANKS!

Blessings,
Susie

Hey Vickie. Watching you from Denver NC. I am a male knitter. My children fuss because that is all they see me doing lately. Ha Ha. Would love to see more male knisters on your show and an episode on magic loop knitting. Best of luck on your knit in

Hello from Dayton, Ohio!
(Kelly Deal's birth town, where the wind chill is currently -3)

My partner and I have been watching since 5 EST and we're really enjoying Kelly Deal and the felted bag right now. Cute bag!

Knitting from Rainier, Oregon! I also had not knit in 30 years until I started watching your show. Finally, everything Mom had taught me made SENSE!!! Thanks for making it FUN, Vickie, plus I learned enough to knit a peplum collar cardigan for my 20-month old grandaughter! I rock!

Love the show~! I'm knitting with you from near Nashville, TN. Our local Starbucks knitters (the staff) and I have fun discussing your latest shows and patterns.

Knit on!

I'm back... took a break from knitting to have a snack and read the blog and comments... WOW! This is so much fun, knowing there are so many people around the country who are all knitting together and watching KG at the same time! :)

Vicki, two questions... did you knit your socks in the picture? They're cute!

And, do you recommend any particular online yarn retailer? Part of me thinks it would be hard to shop for yarn online because its the kind of thing I want to touch and feel before buying... but, if I am following a pattern exactly, I can see where buying the yarn online makes sense. So, any recommendations?

I'm with an earlier poster... its COOOOOLD in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania tonight... I'm glad to be warm and cozy inside with my fireplace going strong and my yarn keeping me warm! :)

Hey I see a spinning wheel in the corner. Is Melinda a spinner?

Posted by: Sandi at February 4, 2007 9:15 PM

Vickie,

How do you become part of an online knitting group? I have wanted to be part of a group for awhile and can not find one in my area. I even have to travel around 100 miles to find a true yarn store. I was thinking the online group sounded like it would work for me.

Thanks for all you do!

Love your show! In episode DNKG - 105 the woven rug pattern made me smile, my mom and I had used that pattern years ago to make scarves and I have made a couple blankets with that same pattern, I still use it from time to time. I've got 2 1/2 squares already crocheted will be moving on to knits soon.

How on earth are you keeping track of all of these different strings of comments? Not really expecting an answer. Simply admiring yours and everyone helpings staminal and skills.

Thanks for a great time!

I'm not Melinda, or Vickie, but to answer the question...is Melinda a spinner? Yes she is. A very good one in fact. :)

I just read Andy's comment about being a knitter. I wish more guys would knit.

My son is in college and his girlfriend is awesome. She rightfully complains about his gaming addiction.

Maybe you could start a trend of knitting couples. A great addiction for dating.

Vickie,
I would love to see a picture of everyone there! Also, in any future book tours will you be near northwest Louisiana?
