But what are you knitting?

Vicki,
Since you are from Texas as well, and since Spring shows were just mentioned, it would be really nice to have shows on knits that could be worn in the spring and summer here in Texas.

Love the show!!! I just wish I could really get my daughter and/or grandaughters interested in knitting more. Your mother must have done something right!

Vicki,
I love your show! I learned to knit so I could make dishcloths. I am attmepting my first sweater.

I am going to teach a group of girlscouts how to knit and they are going to make squares. Any tips of teaching them, as I am not an expert knitter.

I also got some co-workers/friends at the hospital where I work to knit some squares to send in a blanket.

Hi! What size and kind of needles do you reccommend for beginning?

Posted by: Diana at February 4, 2007 8:42 PM

Vicki,
Love your show and watch it pretty much every day. My son loves it too. Wanted to ask you if you have taught your kids yet and if so what techniques did you use or how did you do it? My son, Sam, will be turning 7 in March and is already interested in it.

Oh....tell Mel, HI! from me...this is her sister-in-law down in Louisiana. I'm jealous that you are there with her. :)

Well back to knitting my square!

Kim--great idea! I'll add it to the list. :-)

Valerie-7x9"

Kim-- Hi there! Mel says, "hi" back! I taught Tanner, my 7 year old, but he thought it was boring. So, I guess I don't have any advice. However, I did teach him the rhyme from Melanie Falick's kid book and that seemed to stick with him.

Andi- Sizes 6 through 9 are usually easiest for beginners to use.

Lady-- Honestly, I've been chatting with you all for the past 5 hours so I haven't knitted a stitch. I am however staring at the beginning of a capelet I'm crocheting and the yarn and needles for a frilly scarf. :-)
