Rock Star Episode--Now Airing
Oh, how I love me the Kelly Deal! The guest from the episode airing now is from the awesome band, the Breeders. She designs tons of bags and in fact will be putting out a book of them next year through Lark Publishing. She also contributed a couple of designs to my upcoming book, Catwalk Crochet. See the loopy purse in the background on the mannequin in the green shirt? It has a phone cord handle that I totally flipped over and so Kelly was kind enough to give the purse to me. Yippeeee!
The Breeders are in studio now recording a new album so keep your eyes peeled for that coming out I think, in the fall. Oh, and as a little ode to Kelly and her sister (who's in The Pixies, my all time fave band), I named a color after them in my ROCK yarn. :-)
Ok, back to watching...

Hi Knitty People,
I don’t know how to knit but my girlfriend is a "Rock Star" at it. I miss her terribly, as she has been on a west coast tour working for the last 10 days. Lucky for me she is on TV for 6 hours straight today. It’s the closest thing to having her here next to me so it will have to do. I just wanted to come on here and let her know how much I’ve been thinking about her. Foosball Pft!
Have a happy Super “Knit” Sunday everyone!

So who decides doing a book tour? You or the publisher? And how do you determine the cities and shops and tv appearances? You have "people" don't you? :)

This is one my favorite episodes!
I'm in love with some Vickie yarn!

Hi
I saw you at the Yarn Garden on Friday. You were great! Thanks for coming.
So are you making a special tally of all the squares knit today somehow? THat would be kinda cool. I guess its kind of impossible though. Oh well, I'm going to keep knitting.

Hey Lori...
you asked:
>>
We DO know how many squares we'll get because we have a special department set up. They should be mailed to:
Shipping Address (for knit and crochet squares):
Warm Up America! Foundation
Department DIY Network
2500 Lowell Rd.
Ranlo, NC 28054
This is a year long initiative for Vickie & DIY Network - so you can send in squares at your leisure. Warm Up America says it takes 49 squares to make a quilt, so KNIT ON!

Had to break away to watch Prince! He's awesome. Wonder if he would give rights to a yarn by the name of Purple Rain? Ok back to the show...

Is this the episode they were playing behind you at CHA with Lisa Sichi?

Lori--They're keeping track of the squares by how you address them.
Shipping Address (for knit and crochet squares):
Warm Up America! Foundation
Department DIY Network
2500 Lowell Rd.
Ranlo, NC 28054
Mel-- Oh, I'm so glad! I get nervous that the yarn stores are going to order it and then no one will like it. Thanks for making me feel better! :-)
Catherine-- The publisher handles the book tour including all the appearances. So yeah, I guess I kinda do have people. ;-)
Nellie--The green purse is the rock star purse because it's knitted by Kelly Deal, an actual rock star. :-)
Dave--*sniff, sniff*
