Up Next...
Next episode up is with Joan McGowan-Michael of White Lies Designs. She designs amazing lingerie! FYI, she's the designer of the fishnet stockings in Debbie Stoller's book, Stitch n' Bitch Nation. :-) Stay tuned!
xo,
Vic

Hi. We are snowed in here in Northern New York (about 3 feet of snow today and school is already cancelled for tomorrow - yay!) I'm fairly new to knitting and LOVE your show. It's so great to see such creative knitting ideas. The show on dpns was very helpful. Any chance you might show how to do the magic loop method? Thanks.

I Love this episode. My fiance saw this cami and the white one at the end and fell in love. He wants me to get to work on them. (One of the only times he has ever asked why I am not knitting) Vicki I love this show and have gotten a few friends "addicted" as well. Thank you. You rock!

Karen,
Thanks for the update especially for those of us that don't have DIY Network. Terrific knowing this will be a year long project and we can send squares in at any time. They are a great way to practice new stitches and skills before tackling an entire project.
I'm blogging from Pennsylvania. Time to knit on!

Blogging from the mountains of Western North Carolina. Cold here, just like everywhere. Taught myself to knit from books and Knitty Gritty. You ROCK!
We have 1 family tv which is playing the big game, so I'm relying on my 'puter and just teaching myself to crochet a small project. LOVE the cause. Nice to see efforts both corporate and personal used towards the greater good! Knit on!!!

Laura-- Yes! Actually, Annie Modesitt used that method on an episode we just shot for her new book, Men Who Knit and the Dogs Who Love Them. It should air in the spring.
Annette-- We're sitting here chatting about it now and *think* that although it would be a little difficult, you could knit with one hand if you placed one of the needles under your arm to hold it and scooped the yarn as if it was a crochet hook. Does that make sense?
Thanks, Adrien!!

excellent idea for the woman with a disability.
I too am in a chair, but have good arm movement.
I use a ventilator 24/7 but that shouldn't be the problem.
Trying to find hobbies to get away from the computer so much.
Have been watching all your shows tonight..and taping them to start learning.
Thanks..good alternative to football.

Charlene, I didn't see any sock patterns/shows on DIY, you may want to go to www.lionbrand.com for other patterns. I like the pattern called: Scrunchy, Slouchy Slipper Sock. Of course, there are other kinds, mainly dress socks, I think. Check it out! :)

My friend just called to tell me about what she is seeing on TV. I can't get that channel but we thought I could see it on the Internet, but no. I asked her if she could tape it for me and she said no, so I can't even get a glimpse of what she is watching.

Hey Nancy...
I'm so sorry you can't see DIY and the Knit In Marathon. But don't feel left out. You can keep on blogging here with all of your Knitster pals. :)
You can still see SOME Knitty Gritty - check out the video player at diynetwork.com!
There's all kinds of info on the Knitty Gritty page - just go there and look around - you'll see videos you can watch and learn from...
and if you're helping us out with squares for Warm up America, the address to send the squares is on the pattern page here on diynetwork.com - but since you are knitting AND blogging I'll put it here. (This is also great if you can't get DIY - you can see some videos here.)

Shipping Address (for knit and crochet squares):
Warm Up America! Foundation
Department DIY Network
2500 Lowell Rd.
Ranlo, NC 28054
This is a year long initiative for DIY Network - so you can send in squares at your leisure. Warm Up America says it takes 49 squares to make a quilt, so KNIT ON!
The Knit In is exclusive to DIY Network. Don't miss any more Knitty Gritty! If you don't get DIY in your area, call your local cable or satellite provider. Or you can make it easy and click here.
We appreciate the great response we've gotten so far from the knitters and crocheters out there. You guys are AWESOME!!!

Charlene/Michelle--We just shot 3 sock episodes that will begin airing this spring! Guests: Cookie A., Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and Cat Bordhi. :-)

New York is very cold and it's only getting colder glad we have the squares project to keep our hearts warm and spirits dancing seeing everything else feels frozen :-) Can't wait for the new sock episodes I really need to stop the ladders - the fist pair I did was great then it went down hill.
