Vickie, I just love your show. I taught myself how to knit a year ago and it seems like I always have a project going on. I can't wait to see more and more new shows plus I enjoy the repeated episodes. I live in Washington state, so we knitsters and crocheters have to find something to do while it is raining or just plain cold outside.

Just saw the knit bit on the Russian Join. How sturdy is that? Is there a time when you should NOT use it?
Sorry to ask so many questions

Don't have DIY Network on our satellite system but am joining in via this blog. What fun! Love Knitty Gritty and watch when I can on HGTV.
Time to get back to my blocks. Do six inch ones for a local charity and made eight today.
Great way to spend Super Bowl Sunday!

That's right, I am in chicago and NOT watching the Super Bowl!
I'd never seen the last show and really liked Kelly's purses. Never made a purse, will have to try one. I like the over stiching for patterning, looks easy and more creative. And the russian join is a good tip, didn't know that one.
Thanks for the shows and the blog!

I love Knitty Gritty! 2 years ago my cousin taught me how to knit and then sent some episodes of the show to me that she had taped from DIY. I was so excited to see it on HGTV. Will tonight's episodes make their way onto HGTV soon too?
Thanks for such a fun show!

I love the show, Vicki. I stop all I am doing to sit and watch any of them. Keep up the wonderful work as hopefully more people take up needle craft. This is such a fun way to feel connected to past generations like our grandmothers. Thanks.

Hi Vicki and friends,
Can't watch the show because the only tv with satellite is in the den - where the boys are watching the game.
Anyway, I am off in my little world knitting all by myself.

Sharon-- Thanks! I feel the same way about knitting bridging the gap between generations. I also think that it's brought back heirlooms, which is a tradition that seems to have been lost for a while.
Catherine--It's pretty sturdy. It's often recommended for use in lace knitting which is vigorously blocked. I would probably avoid using it with loosly spun yarns, though.

Thanks for the episodes with Lily Chin. I feel like I learn several things every time she's on the show!

SO glad that a modern Knit show came on the scene! I love the great projects!
Would love to see some more knits for boys big and small! I have a grown boy husband and a sweet young boy for a son. It would be great to knit them something other than a hat, mittens or scarf. They both seem to have a volcano for internal temperature so sweaters are out of the question.
Keep up the great work!

Vicki,
I met you in Dallas when you came for a booksigning, and I complimented you on your shoes. Is the show giving you a shoe budget yet? They should...my friends and I still look to see what you are wearing.
We'd love to be on your show sometime, and we will wear cute shoes too!

Debbie--I always learn tons from Lily too, when she's on the show!
Mary Kay-LOL. I have an great wardrobe person who feeds my love of shoes whever she can. I also tell the camera guys that my shoes being on camera is much more important than my face. ;-) If you go to the FAQ's post there's info on coming onto the show. We'd love to have you!
Terry-- I agree!! I'm trying to get more dude projects! We had some guy related bags this past round and were supposed to have a black cotton guy's v-neck, but the guest fell through.
Hey, are you in VT? We're shooting the Holiday special in Stowe later this month! :-)

Hi Vicki!
I love knitting purses! My favorites to knit are made with an 8 ply cotton made by Elmore Pisgah, Inc. (aka Peaches and Creme) This heavy cotton paired with a furry yarn made up in stripes makes a fantastic bag. I have also made a blanket out of it - baby blanket of course, I am far too impatient to knit a big blanket! Have you ever worked anything up with this heavy yarn/string?
