Cool Yarn
Summer's still a few weeks off, but the weather already hold the promise of heat and humidity. Maybe this will be the summer when I actually stay cool, though: I've recently discovered the most incredible new yarn that actually lowers your body temperature by 5 degrees! If this stuff works as well as I've heard it does, I think whoever invented it has done a great service to women of un certain age everywhere -- I mean, I'm talking a Nobel Prize or something! It's one of the fibers that will be featured in the yarn quiz that DIY will be running in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned (more about that coming soon). In the meantime, and since I haven't actually made anything out of the aforementioned yarn to be able to recommend it, here's Sally Melville's favorite summer sweater, which features a openwork panel that helps keep the wearer cool on even the hottest day.
